Hey friends!
What is the best way to say “thank you” to someone who has gone way out of their way to do something kind for you or a loved one? While a traditional thank you note is always a lovely gesture, other times a fancy font on a custom card actually seems like too small of an effort.
And tell me, (aside from a beautiful apron ;)) what gift do you give the person in your life who has everything they need and more? Another candle? What about a basket of bath products, a set of coasters, or a gift card? Uh. Just thinking about it makes me bored and overwhelmed. Instead, how about gifting something a little sweeter?
When looking for a gift, or creative way to express your gratitude, try putting a little love into an easy homemade pie. Whether it be a super quick key lime pie, fudge pie, or fruit pie, nothing shows appreciation for another person like a lovingly crafted, delicious dessert.
This past week I had to give thanks to one of my two wonderful mother-in-laws for taking our daughter on a very special birthday trip to California. As you can imagine, a note wasn’t enough of a “thank you,” and the last thing my in-laws wanted was a knick-knack. Instead, I whipped up one of my favorite summertime pies, called a Strawberry Chiffon Pie.
Strawberry Chiffon Pie is a very light, “whippy” fruit pie nestled in a homemade Graham cracker crust, smothered in whipped cream, and topped with strawberries and Graham cracker crumbs. The buttery crust offers a hearty crunch, which sets the stage for airy layers of fluffed strawberry filling and smooth, creamy topping. Strawberry Chiffon Pie has a clever balance of textures, and a whimsical fruitiness that makes it over-the-top delicious. The recipe is easy to make, pretty as-can-be, and is a delightful way to give thanks to those who deserve it most!
For the perfect gift that is sweet as pie, this Strawberry Chiffon Pie is a great choice. If you have other baked goods that you like to “gift,” please share! For our other pie recipes, check out related posts, HERE.
Happy baking!
