  Yesterday was my dog Cooper’s birthday, and we made homemade dog cupcakes to celebrate.  Our whole wheat banana cupcakes with peanut butter and honey frosting were easy to make, and Cooper ate four at one time.  My mom thought that was too much, but Cooper had a great birthday and we all had fun.  Your dog will love this homemade dog treat recipe!

Homemade Dog Cupcakes

These whole wheat banana dog cupcakes with peanut butter and honey frosting are easy to make and doggie approved!

Ingredients

For the Cupcakes

• 2 eggs
• 1 banana
• 2 cups whole wheat flour
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
• 1 cup water

For the Frosting

• 2 cups creamy peanut butter
• 2 tbsp honey

Instructions

For the Cupcakes

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Combine the first seven ingredients in a mixer and combine

3. Pour cupcake batter into cups and bake for 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out dry

For the Frosting

1. In a separate bowl, combine peanut butter and honey.  You can whip the ingredients together for a fluffier frosting, or just stir.

2. Once the cupcakes have cooled, place frosting in a piping bag to decorate the cupcakes, or spread on with a knife.
